We got trapped and deserved it

We were racing the clock, pushing through a narrow gap in the reef as the water began to pour out. It was tense, it was raw, and for a second, I wondered if we’d pushed it too far. But as soon as we crossed that ledge and the engine cut to a literal hum, the world just... stopped.
There are moments out here where the 9.5m plate boat feels like a tiny speck against the power of the Kimberley tides. This was one of them.
We spend a lot of time on the water, but I’ve never felt anything like this. We found ourselves "trapped" inside a massive reef hole, suspended in blue-green glass with dozens of turtles just drifting alongside us. No noise. No script. Just us and the heartbeat of the ocean.
Ricky got the drone up to capture the scale of it, but even the best lens can’t fully translate the feeling of being that small and that connected to something so beautiful. It’s a humbling reminder to respect these wild places—they give back so much more than they take.
I’m feeling incredibly grateful today that we get to share these "no-filter" moments with a community that loves the outdoors as much as we do. Thanks for being part of the journey.
Stay wild, be kind and let's look after each other. Enjoy the wild ventures with us here on this episode.
